In the spotlight

The future of Italian rugby also goes through here. This is what surfaced at the end of the “Città di Bergamo Tournament”, a mini-rugby event  that, in a hot summer day, saw more than 500 children, aged five to twelve, take over the sports ground of the Cittadella dello Sport (Sports Citadel) to represent as many as eleven sports clubs.

Winner of the seventh edition of the Città di Bergamo Tournament – 2nd Renergies Italia Cup was the Rugby Cernusco club, an historical association of the oval ball from the Milanese province that obtained the best score winning the Under 12 and Under 8 categories and ranking third in the Under 10 category.

A special award for the organizers of the Rugby Bergamo 1950, who with their The Junior Bergamo team ranked third and fourth in the U12 category, and second in the U10 and the U8 category.
In the general ranking, another prominent association of the oval world ranked third, Rugby Velate, which dominated in the U10 category but lost the prestigious final game of the Under 12 against Cernusco.
 
The other regional teams did well with Rugby Seriate (first in the Under 6) and Rugby Zogno, fourth in the final ranking. Worthy of note is the non-official presence of other two associations from the Bergamo area, Rugby Brembate and Rugby San Lorenzo, which “lent” some players to some teams enrolled in the event.
Guests of honor at the event, the Amatori Genova team, a Ligurian association boasting a long tradition in Italian rugby.

Deep satisfaction also for the organizers who were able to set up an event that is representative of a prestigious date in the mini rugby calendar of Lombardy and hence able to attract significant partnerships such as the one with Renergies Italia, according to the managers of the attending associations.
